What a Pain

On Monday morning, on his way to the chook pen with Master B, L suddenly decided he didn't have enough excitement in his life and decided to take a trip. He stumbled into a hole, dug by one of our chooks (the first three chooks we owned - we only have one of those left - seemed to have something of a fetish for digging holes in the ground). He immediately knew he had done something drastic to his ankle, which he had rolled, and after icing it for a while we drove to town to have some x-rays. By that time, his ankle had swollen to the point where there was a lump the size of a half a tennis ball on the side of his ankle.Fortunately, his x-rays came back clear, and the diagnosis is that he has pulled his ligaments - still very painful. His ankle will need to be strapped and he will have to have physiotherapy. He also has to use crutches. The hardest part of all of this is trying to get him to actually stay of his feet, he is constantly hobbling around and putting pressure on it, very naughty boy.
